This was my first time building a detached ADU from ground up in Tacoma WA. When I was researching different builders, I ultimately decided to work with Chris because (1) He is extremely knowledgeable about the process and gives you an honest answer (2) He is very responsive (3) He knows the Tacoma market (4) Most importantly he understood my goal and provided guidance instead of just saying yes to everything I asked for. His estimates were pretty accurate. We kept to the schedule and budget. I really enjoyed working with his team especially Kurt, the site superintendent, who was very receptive and overall nice to work with. I highly recommend Chris and wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again in the future.

After calling and emailing multiple contractors we found Gordon T. Jacobs. McKenna quickly reached out to scheduled Chris to come out to our home and thoroughly go through our possibilities with remodeling our older home in phases we were comfortable with financially. He was able to come up with an accurate estimate within a few days and easily scheduled our first phase.

Chris Jr has been overseeing our first two projects. He’s extremely easy to communicate with, detail-oriented, and respectful. Our first phase was our full kitchen remodel which included taking down a large brick, load bearing wall and putting in a supporting beam so we had many subs coming in and out.
