Family Centered Kitchen Renovation

Chris and Jasmine both had very long commutes that were taking too much time away from their family. They wanted to buy a home in a central location between both of their jobs that would cut down their commute time and ultimately have time for what is most important to them, their family. The home they fell in love with was in their desired location but needed some renovating. The location was just what they were looking for so they decide to purchase the home.

When we met Chris and Jasmine, we learned that they care most about family time and being together. So with that in mind, we first updated the kitchen to create a more open and inviting space for the whole family to hang out. The original kitchen was boxy and was not open to the dining and living room. We updated their kitchen with an all new layout that opened up their entire downstairs.

All new hardwood floors were installed throughout creating a cohesive flow downstairs. New white shaker cabinets with large black pulls made a huge statement in the kitchen! They went with white subway tiles for the backsplash for a clean and timeless look. Their kitchen is bright and beautiful and is now a great space for their family to gather. We created enough space in the kitchen to have a couple bar stools for seating at the counter too.

Now Chris and Jasmine have an updated home that is great for their family life and in the perfect location for their commute to work. It was our pleasure working with them and we look forward to hearing about the memories they’ll make in their new home.

CLIENT TESTIMONY:

After purchasing our new home, my husband and I hired Chris and his team at Gordon T. Jacob to remodel our kitchen and give our downstairs an updated look with new floors and paint. Working with Chris was a wonderful experience from the start. We had a somewhat limited budget due to selling our other property at a loss, but rather than make us feel bad about our small budget (which other contractors had done) Chris took a problem-solving approach to our situation and gave us some options that would help us achieve what we wanted. He took the time to sit down with us and figure out exactly what was important to our family and suggested a couple of ways that we could approach the remodel to end up with a project that we were happy with. Chris was extremely meticulous when it came to the design of our new kitchen- explaining how moving one thing would affect the flow or function of the kitchen or explaining how a certain material would stand up to the inevitable abuse of our young children. When my husband and I would start to expand the scope of the project, Chris would gently remind us that we could always do more later- saving us from the anxiety and resentment of buyer’s remorse at the end of the project.

Chris’ construction team was equally amazing. Incredibly diligent and friendly. We had a few neighbors come by and inquire about possible projects that could be done at their home, and afterwards they would come by and tell my husband and I that it seemed like the crew was constantly in motion- they had never seen a group of workers hustle so much!

Over the years we have had both good and bad contractors, and Chris and his team are by far the best. The whole experience was like having an old family friend come by to visit- and build you a new kitchen We are beyond thrilled with the final product- it came out even better than we had expected, and we receive compliments about it constantly. If you are in the market for a remodel and want an honest, genuine general contractor and a team of professional, sincerely good people to work with -Chris and his team are your guys.”
