A Custom Dream
We are so excited when we help someone remodel their home and change the way they live, and even more so when they hire us a second time to continue making their home match their dreams.
In this case, we remodeled their upstairs before the holiday season last year, and they hired us back for the main floor in the new year.
For the second phase, we completely transformed the kitchen, utilizing every foot of space in the most functional and beautiful way. We brought in our cabinet designer and laid a spectacular new plan that includes double stacked upper cabinets, custom built doors on an appliance storage, a dishwasher with a cabinet panel face, a newly configured island that offers better flow, as well as, seating, and a marvelous tile backsplash. In order to accomplish all of this we altered a wall and changed a window location. Ultimately, this kitchen was exactly what the family hoped it would become.
We ran modern looking wide plank hardwoods throughout the main floor with a herringbone pattern installed at the entryway for a unique welcoming focal point. We preserved the tile in the downstairs bathroom while updating the vanity, paint, lights, mirror and shower glass surround.
The laundry room was renovated with unique tile floors, new cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and stairs into the garage.
Lastly, to create a complete project, we updated all of the millwork, doors, paint and lighting in every last room. And finally, the most beautiful blue front door!
We never want to underestimate the trust it requires for someone to hire us the first time around, and then, to have earned it again, is incredible. We feel honored and we love the way their entire home turned out!

Our house was built in 1991 and had never been updated, with many quirky elements and poorly used spaces. Chris and Mitzi helped us give the entire home a refresh, including all-new flooring, paint, 3 bathrooms, doors, and a show-stopping new kitchen. We absolutely love living in our new space; it feels like a totally new house!
Throughout the project, Chris and team brought knowledge and expertise, and the project was smooth and easy. The budgeting process was communicative and collaborative; we were able to identify the high priority and custom items we wanted to invest in and then find other opportunities to simplify and save, so we could maximize our budget and create our ideal home. Chris was so helpful in guiding this process, he has a design eye and a deep understanding of the sub-contractors, processes, and tradeoffs needed to bring our big ideas to life.
The team also excels in the project planning and daily to day management, which is critical to the success of any construction project. Everything was managed really well, and our large-scale 2-phase project has been largely on budget and on time, which is a huge accomplishment in itself! Chris did a great job anticipating all the elements and needs, and setting a realistic timeline. Our project manager Christopher Jr was outstanding, super communicative and on the ball with all the pieces that needed to come together. He also got to know our preferences and would proactively anticipate feedback, and propose solutions that were both thoughtful and effective. Mitzi was an excellent partner for all the design and finish elements, and really helped us realize our vision and find great vendors to source materials from. There were so many things to consider, and decisions to make, and we couldn’t have done this project without her! We really appreciated the level of care, it was a true team effort and family affair, and we had such a great experience.
Our renovation project was comprehensive – nothing had been updated. We wanted to make it more contemporary style throughout, replace all the cherry wood trim and teal carpet, refresh the bathrooms, and totally reinvent the kitchen. In the first phase we updated the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, with new carpet and paint, and two fully updated bathrooms. We love the new custom showers and beautiful tile work in the bathrooms, and whole upstairs space looks and feels so much better.
In phase two we updated the downstairs living area, laundry, guest bathroom and kitchen. The transformation is amazing! The old kitchen was so wonky and not functional, with lots of weird shapes and no drawers. Chris brought in an outstanding kitchen designer to create a completely reimagined space with a better layout, more storage, way more function – and it’s gorgeous! The quality of the cabinets, and the craftsmanship of the cabinet install and all the trim and doors, are outstanding. Our home has a lot of challenging corners and they did a great job finishing everything to a high standard. We also updated the flooring, from a mix of wood and carpet to a new manufactured wood, and we are very happy with the material and the installation. We designed a custom herringbone style in the entryway, and Chris and his flooring vendor worked hard to find us the right product at the right budget, and it came out beautifully.
