Our House

Our House | Puyallup, WA

A few months ago, we walked downstairs one morning to discover every homeowner’s nightmare: our washing machine had flooded the entire downstairs.

We were shocked and devastated, but we were also grateful to know exactly where to start. As remodelers, we understood what needed to happen next. The flooring, trim, drywall, powder bath, kitchen, and laundry room all had to be removed and rebuilt. Having now lived through two remodels of our own, we have an even greater appreciation for the process and the experience it takes to guide our clients through it.

While the damage was unexpected, it gave us the opportunity to reimagine our downstairs. We traded our cool-toned, timeless kitchen for the warm, modern space we had been dreaming of. With help from the knowledgeable team at Huntwood Cabinets, we selected flat-panel walnut cabinetry for the kitchen and powder bath, a thin-shaker white cabinet for the butler’s pantry, and a fun green shaker cabinet for the laundry room.

We also had fun with the finishing details. Mid-toned oak hardwood floors now run throughout the downstairs, complemented by beautiful tile in the powder bath and laundry room. Champagne gold hardware and Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa paint tie everything together, creating a warm, cohesive look throughout the space.

We’re grateful to be on the other side of another remodel and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. While we certainly wouldn’t have chosen a flood as the reason to renovate, we love the home we’ve created on the other side of it!
