Gameday Design

When Judy and her fiancé, Angie, brought us to their home to discuss their vision, we knew right away that we would be able to, not only create the ideal space, but also create a friendship while doing it. Judy is a major sports fan and they love hosting. Their hope was to open up the kitchen into a bedroom that was unused to make more space for gatherings with family and friends, especially game days for the Mariners and Seahawks. As we listened to Judy describe their lifestyle and how they would best utilize their open living space, we collaborated and came up with the idea of transforming the closet out of that opened room into a cocktail bar. Another creative way we renovated their home was removing the laundry set from the galley kitchen (who wants their laundry as one of their kitchen appliances?) We moved the entrance of the master bedroom out of the kitchen as well. Instead, we opened a wall in the living room and put French doors as the entrance to the bedroom and created a laundry closet in the bedroom that is accessible through dual barn doors. The end results turned out stunning. The joy we felt as we celebrated the final walkthrough with Judy brought on a little Beatles tune, “Judy, Judy….!” The new design will make cheering for the home team on game day so much sweeter.

Review from homeowner,

“Three years ago, I purchased a 1965 Rambler home in Puyallup, WA. My home was very outdated, and I began to envision what I wanted to have done. My vision took on a new life of its own. I did my research on contractors and had several out to the house to meet with me and walk through what my vision was. I received a call from Chris with Gordon T. Jacob, and I knew that I had found a contractor to make my vision of my home become a reality. During the call with Chris, I felt his passion for what he does and how much he and his team care about each project that they do. It’s not just another job to Chris and his wife Mitzi, as it is more about the story and how they can make their customer’s dreams come true. Chris and Mitzi took the time to get to know my fiancé Angie and I. and what we wanted for the future for our home. Chris and Mitzi kept in communication and through the whole remodel we knew exactly what was going on every day. I am not the greatest person when it comes to picking out tile and other color schemes, but Mitzi was right there to give me guidance and her expertise. The experience was amazing, but the transformation of our home was priceless. Thank you, Chris, Mitzi, and the team at Gordon T. Jacob, you made our visions and dreams come true. We love our home.”
