IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT?

Of course, it is worth the investment! Landscaping adds value to your home. HGTV has made curb appeal famous. The average return at resale is 100 percent. Families that are house hunting will be more excited about a home if the landscape is well kept with green grass and some gorgeous flowers. With a little TLC your yard could make a potential buyer pause and take a longer look at your house and increase your chances of a better outcome when it hits the market!

DON’T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN WHEN TRYING TO MAKE YOUR YARD BEAUTIFUL?

The best way to start what can be an overwhelming project, is to contact a local landscape designer to get inspired and get a feel of the potential your yard holds. Local garden centers often have free design services. If you’re in the Pierce County area, a good resource to check out is Watson’s Greenhouse and Nursery. They’re located in Tacoma and have been a part of our community since 1974. They offer design services which provide:

  • Hand-drawn plan to 1/4″ or 1/8″ scale
  • Hardscape and planting bed layout
  • List of recommended trees, shrubs and perennials
  • Plants at a glance list

If you’re looking for a simple way to add value to your yard that does not require a design consultation, try adding different colors and heights of plants and flowers. It’s great way to add a dramatic effect and it’s an easy and inexpensive way to create a beautiful yard. At minimum, we recommend adding colorful seasonal flowers, maintaining a green yard, and removing weeds.
